Overview
Autodesk achieved zero landfill and zero cost removal from a union building, while eliminating furniture removal costs.
The building was 80,000 sq ft and consisted of over 200 stations of Herman Miller including seating, conference furniture, private offices and ancillary furniture.
Solution
RESEAT created a comprehensive digital inventory of every furniture asset and generated Digital Product Passports that documented product specifications and condition. This allowed assets to be marketed, matched, and redeployed before the move occurred.
Through strategic liquidation and redistribution, RESEAT successfully re-homed 100% of the furniture inventory, eliminating disposal costs and preventing landfill waste.
Key takeaways
Traditional furniture removal would have resulted in significant labor costs and landfill waste. Autodesk sought a solution that would maximize reuse, eliminate unnecessary disposal expenses, and support its ESG commitments.
