You can design a modern, cohesive office almost entirely with second-life furniture. The trick is to specify to a palette of manufacturers, lines, and finishes, source the quantities you need, and let the savings, usually 50 to 70% below retail, fund the moments that deserve something new.
Second-life furniture used to mean compromise. It doesn't anymore. The best commercial pieces are built to last 15 to 20 years, so a five year old chair or workstation performs like new while costing a fraction of it.
Start with a palette, not a pile
Design the scheme first. Choose your task seating, your desking system, your soft seating, and your finishes, then source to that spec. Sourcing to a defined palette is what keeps a second-life project looking intentional rather than assembled.
